DESCRIPTION:

This project significantly reduces the facilities operating costs by eliminating the requirement to off-haul and dispose of a high brine waste stream generated by several of the plant distillation processes. After treatment, this waste stream is able to be returned into the plant and used for additional purposes or safely discharged in compliance with Water Board requirements. New England Sheet Metal and Mechanical Co. (NESM)‘s scope of work used a proprietary evaporation technology to concentrate a high-salinity feed stream using Combined Solar Technologies (CST) technology to separate the solids from the liquid. We created a 3-D model of the entire installation giving an opportunity to provide input in order to optimize operational efficiencies, as well as allowing us to accurately locate equipment and piping to allow the prefabrication of a large portion of the piping that expedited work in the field.
