DESCRIPTION:
New England Sheet Metal and Mechanical Co. (NESM) served as the plumbing trade contractor for the construction of the new jail facility on a 2.7 site in downtown Fresno. The new jail features three floors, a full basement, a total of 300 beds, small and medium housing units, and offices for administrative staff. NESM’s scope also included providing full plumbing and piping, along with hydronic piping (above & below ground), HVAC ductwork, equipment and finishes. Heating and cooling to the new facility will come from the redesigned central energy plant which includes the cooling towers, chiller, steam boilers, hot water boilers, deaerator and numerous system pumps to provide proper flow to the new and existing jail facilities.
